Magda Dabrowska
Born on September 17 in 1981 in Warsaw, as a Downtown girl she didn't have much
in common with sailing, except maybe for one youth camp in Augustow, where most of the time she spent in a nearby pub or in a kayak...The real sailing adventures began when she met Piotrek, now her husband. Zegrzynski Zalew and Mazurian Lakes became not only crucial training centers, but also gave a good lesson of life (today with sentiment she recalls sailing camps by Orlik Yacht Club under the command of Jacek Kolipinski). Then, cruising aboard s/y Alefant across the cold waters of Norway and Ireland convinced her there are things worth getting up at 5 a.m for. In July 2006 she bravely defended her thesis against the attacks of an examination commitee from the Psychology Department at Warsaw University becoming a Master of Art. Brought to US by her husband in September 2006, she was completely unaware of what awaited her. Soon enough, she finds herself in the middle of Piotrek's dream and from then on she is facing the challenges of being an admiral aboard sailing vessel Whisper II.

Piotrek Jablonski
(Finally about me!)
Piotrek is also from Warsaw, born in 1980. He's been sailing since he can remember,
or even longer. That's how it goes in a family of devoted sailors. Yachting in the unforgettable Mazurian Lakes, then facing storms on the Baltic Sea, at last cruising around Norway and Ireland. He was even lucky enough to embark as an officer of the watch on a Mediterranean cruise aboard a tall ship Pogoria. In the meantime, he passed a few sailing exams, the latest of which was Offshore Skipper, he is also a certified Sailing Instructor. Recreationally a CMAS* diver, professionally a philosopher with a diploma from Warsaw University, occasionally also a psychologist, and even a physicist. Brought to the US by a Fulbright scholarship at the University of Michigan, he soon realized that buying an old sailboat is a plausible thing even with savings as small as his. That's how, slowly but surely, the dreams of childhood come true. How will it all end? So far nobody can tell...
